Are you operating your business with the law of the niche in mind?
The law of the niche says that each team member should be placed where they add the most value to the business. This is based on their skill set, their own past experiences, and natural gifts and talents.
As you establish a new normal in your business, now is the time to reassess where your team players are and if they are still positioned correctly.
In sports, the team members try out each year. They are always conditioning, preparing, making sure they are on the top of their game. As people grow, where they should be positioned in your team naturally could change. Coaches or leaders are constantly evaluating each person so that they can put together the best team to handle any situation that’s ahead of them.
It may be time to make some changes.
Implementing change is not a fun part of being a leader or coach, but definitely a crucial part. For example, Coach Gregg Popovich or the San Antonio Spurs moved one of the great players, Manu Ginobili from starter to coming in off the bench. This guy had won championships and helped his team win championships in the past. As a great team player, Manu accepted this new role with gusto and contributed so well he helped win his team another championship. So, different positions don’t have to mean anything negative. It can just mean different.
