How to Help Your Team Adapt to Rapid Change

Change. Pivot. Adapt.

These words have lingered throughout 2020 as many organizations had to completely rethink the way they’ve been doing things.

You still have a mission. Change isn’t a foreign concept. However, because of the swiftness of what we’ve experienced in our marketplace, pivoting can be a challenge for any team.

As a leader, asking your team to pivot and not considering their strengths, their natural gifts, or their interests can be counterproductive.

When you ask your team to “play out of position,” they may feel intimidated by the job, procrastinate performing it, or walk away altogether.

On the other hand, when you ask someone to rise to the challenge and the change falls within their pocket of strengths, they’ll feel the thrill of accomplishing something new and exciting.

Pivoting doesn’t have to be intimidating and deflating. Aligning projects with the best fit of your team’s talents will help make pivoting a positive challenge.
