The happiest place

On Earth

Flying to Orlando, Florida is I like flying anywhere else. It doesn’t matter what time a year it or where you are flying from the atmosphere on the plane is full of excitement. Inevitably there are families with kids that are making the trek to The Magic Kingdom.

The Magic Kingdom is a place where dreams come true. Where creativity and kindness know no bounds and anything is possible. Carpets fly, tea cups spin, castles are real and everyone is a prince or princess.

This magical place was birthed out of the heart and mind of Walt Disney. He wanted to create the “Happiest place on earth.” A place that would never be completed but could keep evolving and developing. He took the limits off imagination and creativity and told his staff to dream then find a way to make it come alive.

You don’t have to go to Disneyland to be in the “Happiest Place on Earth.”  Thriving organization’s unleash creativity in their people and create a culture that encourages innovation and dreaming. This is a place where people are excited every day and full of the anticipation of what is next. The strengths, talents and abilities of everyone are nurtured and expected to grow. Teams are highly engaged, non-owner dependent and producing incredible results.

The Magic Kingdom is possible for everyone, Walt Disney just showed us how. For years people believed that it wasn’t possible for a human to run a mile in under four minutes. In fact so many people tried and failed, the prevailing thought was that breaking the four minute barrier would result in death. But one day someone did break the barrier. They didn’t die and after them several people broke the same barrier within a year. Now, a four minute mile is expected for a good athlete.

Do you have a Magic Kingdom of your own?  A place where the best of you comes to life. Where you are fully engaged and you are living your dreams.

If you do, is your team experiencing the same thing?

If not, what do you want to do about it?
